The Automotive Maintenance Technician will support and report to the lead mechanic in the operational unit and will be tasked with executing preventive maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, hydraulic systems, scissor lifts, and various equipment.
- Adhere to all organizational protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
- Uphold integrity and honesty in all job functions.
- Carry out repairs and assigned preventive maintenance on vehicles.
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, and braking systems of vehicles and equipment.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required.
- Utilize vehicle electronic systems to diagnose issues and initiate or delegate repairs.
- Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and order necessary parts.
- Complete all tasks within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Conduct safety evaluations on vehicles.
- Complete necessary documentation using fleet maintenance software for vehicle repairs, parts usage, and repair time tracking.
- Review and address repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Pre-Trip Inspection Reports.
- Maintain a tidy and safe workspace in accordance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, performing all tasks following established safety protocols.
- Regular and punctual attendance is essential for this role.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in diesel mechanics.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Certification in mechanics or a related field.
- Demonstrated integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Possess social awareness, humility, and motivation.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance tools and equipment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Dependable and reliable work ethic.
