The Choral Program Director is responsible for the comprehensive management of all choral activities within the university setting. This role encompasses teaching advanced choral music courses, providing guidance and mentorship to students, recruiting new talent, and leading choir members in their artistic endeavors. The director will also oversee budgetary considerations, coordinate performance schedules, and collaborate with various academic departments to enhance the visibility of the choir at institutional events.
Primary Responsibilities:- Provide artistic leadership and direction for the university's primary choir and additional vocal ensembles.
- Design, implement, and manage a robust choral program, including organizing concerts and performance tours.
- Create and develop a curriculum for choral music courses while actively recruiting students to strengthen the program.
- Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure choral activities are integrated with other university initiatives.
- Oversee the choral program's budget, engage in outreach efforts within the community, and remain informed about current trends in choral music.
