Position Summary:

The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons and fellow healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality medical care. This role includes managing a personal clinic schedule and participating in surgical procedures, with an emphasis on both outpatient and inpatient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough assessments of patient health, ensuring adherence to treatment plans and determining necessary diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
  2. Provide comprehensive care for acute and chronic conditions, including patient history evaluations, physical examinations, and administration of medications and treatments.
  3. Manage patient inquiries and evaluate clinical issues effectively.
  4. Respond to urgent medical situations, employing CPR and other emergency protocols as needed.
  5. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatment outcomes in medical records.
  6. Educate patients and their families to ensure understanding and continuity of care.
  7. Assist surgeons during operative procedures in the surgical environment.
  8. Participate in hospital rounds and respond to after-hours patient calls as part of a collaborative care team.
  9. Consult with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient care.
  10. Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions.

Qualifications:

Education:

Current certifications in CPR and ACLS are required.

For Physician Assistants:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree is preferred, along with graduation from an accredited physician assistant program and active NCCPA certification.

For Nurse Practitioners:

A valid Arizona Registered Nurse license and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license are required, along with national certification as recognized by the Arizona APRN Board.

Experience:

Previous experience is preferred, although new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Understanding of acute and chronic care protocols, medication administration, and patient care practices.
  2. Ability to assess patient health and document physiological data accurately.
  3. Familiarity with health promotion strategies and patient education methodologies.

Abilities:

  1. Capability to make informed decisions within the scope of practice.
  2. Proficiency in developing educational resources for patient care.
  3. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
