Job Description

At Jack Link's Beef Jerky, we're seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure and Operations Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch support for our on-site local physical server, storage, and network infrastructure at our Perry, GA location.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT infrastructure technologies, including virtualization, network, and cloud-based application services. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining our server, storage, backup, archival, and recovery infrastructure.

As a Systems Engineer, you will work closely with our IT team and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology expansion and provide technical expertise to support business initiatives. You will also be responsible for building strong relationships with our business teams and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support for physical server, storage, and network infrastructure
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and maintain server, storage, backup, archival, and recovery infrastructure
  • Work with the International Infrastructure team to support global business initiatives
  • Partner with site leadership to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for technology expansion
  • Identify problem management trends and determine root cause analysis of issues
  • Automate non-value-added manual support tasks to reduce team impact
  • Engage with the Project Management Office (PMO) to plan for testing and delivery of customer technology solutions
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks as assigned from internal and project leadership

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer-related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years' experience with physical/virtual server, network, and backup technologies
  • 4+ years' experience with Windows server operating systems
  • 4+ years' experience with virtualized server technologies
  • 3+ years' experience with Cisco network technologies
  • 2+ years' experience scripting and automating infrastructure
  • 4+ years' experience patching and updating firmware
  • 3+ years' experience working with Azure/AWS/Google
  • 3+ years' experience working with Security teams responding or remediating gaps
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals and procedural documentation
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge of current technological developments and trends in industry
  • Available for after-hours support as needed
  • Valid driver's license and insurable
  • Ability to travel to other plant locations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year technical degree in computer science field
  • Office 365 experience/certification
  • Lynix experience
  • Experience working in consumer package goods plant
  • VMware or AHV certification
