Position Overview:

Arcadis is seeking a Senior ITS Electrical Design Engineer to take on a crucial role in the electrical design, development, and execution of Highway Lighting, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Tolling Infrastructure. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering principles as they pertain to highway lighting, ITS technologies, and tolling systems. The ideal candidate will spearhead engineering initiatives, oversee technical teams, and guarantee that designs are economically viable, dependable, and compliant with all applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Direct the electrical engineering design for projects involving tolling systems, ITS, and traffic signal infrastructure. Formulate project plans and ensure compliance with timelines and specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to fulfill project goals.
  • System Design and Implementation: Engineer, implement, and enhance electrical and electronic systems for ITS, tolling systems, and traffic signals. Design and refine highway lighting systems, utilizing photometric analysis to optimize lighting solutions. Ensure that designs adhere to specifications, performance benchmarks, and regulatory standards. Conduct electrical and roadway lighting design for a variety of projects, including roadways, bridges, tunnels, transportation facilities, roadway signage, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize electrical engineering principles to devise solutions for ITS and tolling infrastructure. Familiarity with NEMA standards and GDOT electrical design criteria for tolling and ITS systems is essential.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, focusing on ITS and Highway Lighting. Proven experience in a senior or leadership capacity is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in coordinating with utility companies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Possession of an Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems for ITS technologies and tolling infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and ProjectWise software.
  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Additional certifications related to ITS or traffic engineering are considered a plus.
