Job Summary

St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking a per diem variable shift Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist the Pharmacist in the support of the drug distribution systems, including patient counseling and pharmacokinetic calculations, and participate in performance improvement and data collections activities.


Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and dispensing medications in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assisting in the inspection of medication storage areas throughout the hospital
  • Participating in providing pharmaceutical care for patients of all ages
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacist

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Previous hospital pharmacy technician experience, preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) current or obtained within 6 months of hire date, required
  • State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program, preferred
