Job Description

The Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Provider Network Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the overall coordination of contracts between our network and assigned providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage contracts between the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority and assigned network providers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between our network and providers.
  • Lead a virtual team of interdepartmental experts to assist, monitor, and manage network providers.
  • Collaborate with finance, information technology, recipient rights, quality management, and clinical services to ensure all contractual issues are addressed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for providers with our network.
  • Facilitate the successful implementation of new contracts with providers by providing technical assistance.
  • Monitor, assess, and ensure providers receive required and necessary training.
  • Protect the confidential and proprietary nature of provider operations.
  • Explain and interpret our network's policies, procedures, and goals to providers.
  • Resolve problems, respond to issues, requests, and complaints, and answer questions for providers.
  • Collaborate with other contract managers to propose revisions to our network's policies and procedures to improve interface with network providers.
  • Obtain and disseminate required provider network data for network development and maintenance.
  • Participate in the analysis of network provider performance data to ensure appropriate network utilization and identify needs for network modification and reconfiguration.
  • Facilitate provider network compliance and corrective action.
  • Respond to general public inquiries, problems, and concerns.
  • Maintain documentation of all interactions with the provider network.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly written reports regarding provider network performance and progress.
  • Facilitate monthly/quarterly meetings with the provider network.
  • Prepare board actions as needed.
  • Monitor the contracting process from board action to approval.
  • Maintain oversight of the contracting process with network providers to ensure compliance with all procurement requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in human services, social services, nursing, public health, public administration, healthcare administration, health management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Five years of post-degree professional experience in behavioral healthcare or community mental health, including management, administrative, or supervisory duties.
  • Valid State of Michigan driver's license with a safe and acceptable driving record.

Working Conditions:

Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan. This position can work remotely with supervisory approval.
