Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Property Accountant to support a thriving Multifamily Asset Real Estate Company. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment with experienced professionals.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conduct detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including prepaid expenses, capital expenditures, property taxes, and insurance.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations, journal entries, and management fee calculations.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes for all properties.
  • Manage Treasury functions, including fund transfers and addressing positive pay issues.
  • Review accounts payable for accuracy and compliance with operational approvals.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to resolve accounting-related inquiries and provide financial insights.
  • Support quarterly and annual external audits as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a minimum of three years of experience in Real Estate accounting.
  • CPA or MBA designation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficient understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience with property management/accounting software, such as Yardi, is advantageous.
