Job Overview

Vera House, Inc. is a leading human service agency dedicated to providing comprehensive domestic and sexual violence prevention and intervention services.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Per Diem SANE Clinician to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in delivering trauma-informed care to victims of sexual assault and ensuring the integrity of forensic evidence.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a strong commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals.

This is a per diem position with a competitive hourly rate.

About the Role
  • Provide on-call services for sexual assault cases in Onondaga County, working collaboratively with local emergency departments.
  • Conduct forensic exams, including initial assessments, clinical specimen collection, and interventions for victims of sexual assault.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical and legal records, adhering to strict chain of custody protocols.
  • Serve as a liaison between Vera House, Inc. and community partners, fostering positive relationships and promoting effective communication.
  • Participate in court testimony, providing expert assessment and documentation of sexual assault cases.
Requirements
  • NYS or accredited nursing license (RN) required; completion of SANE education course essential.
  • One year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and written skills.
  • Able to adapt to demanding situations and work well under pressure.
Salary Information

Competitive hourly rates apply:

  • SANE Regular On-Call rate: $40/hour
  • SANE Holiday On-Call rate: $50/hour (10 annual holidays)
  • SANE Call-Out Rate: $300 flat rate
