Dialysis Technician

As a Dialysis Technician at EVN Dialysis Center LLC, you will play a vital role in the preparation and treatment of patients undergoing dialysis. Under the supervision of experienced nursing staff, you will assist in the setup and operation of dialysis equipment, monitor patient vital signs, and provide general care and support to patients during treatment.
Responsibilities:Patient Care Activities:- Perform routine treatment procedures, including insertion of fistula needles, initiation, and termination of treatments.
- Administer Heparin and Normal Saline as required and ordered.
- Conduct pre-dialysis safety tests and document results properly.
- Monitor and record blood flow rate, machine pressures, and Heparin dosage/administration during treatment.
- Make rounds to assigned patients, anticipate needs, and respond to visual and audible alarms of equipment.
- Ensure all safety parameters on the equipment are set and maintained.
- Assist in the positioning, lifting, and turning of patients using proper body mechanics.
- Perform Hard Water tests and Chloramine tests as assigned.
- Keep various logs updated, per policy.
- Prepare, gather, and distribute supplies prior to treatment or as per established routine procedures.
- Restock supplies in designated areas and receive and store shipments of supplies.
- Clean and maintain dialysis and accessory equipment per policy.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment by reporting equipment that is out of order and other problems to the supervisor.
- Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, and unit personnel, while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- High School graduate.
- American Heart Association, BLS Provider Card - Required.
- Hemodialysis Certification through either the Board of Nephrolou Examiners Nursing and Technology (BONENT) or through the National Association of Nephrology Technicians/Technologist (NANT). - Required.
- Able to read and speak English - bilingual preferred.
- One year experience in the medical field either as a certified hemodialysis technician involved in patient care - preferred.
