Job Summary

AVANGRID, Inc. is seeking a skilled Line Mechanic 1/C, 2/C acceptable to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing complex construction and maintenance work on energized conductors, structures, and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair high-voltage transmission and distribution lines, including polyphase transformer installations and distribution and transmission switching.
  • Perform routine operations of moderate complexity and variety based on detailed instructions, including operation of transportation equipment.
  • Direct the work of other Linemen or Groundmen assisting you, ensuring efficient and safe completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve results and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • At least three years' experience as a Second-Class Lineman or equivalent, as evidenced by an appropriate test.
  • Good working knowledge of Company's line practices and standards, as well as electrical fundamentals related to transmission and distribution construction and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform routine operations of moderate complexity and variety based on detailed instructions.
  • Must be willing to work irregular and/or extra hours as required, and be able to qualify for an automobile operator's license.

Physical and Personal Qualifications
  • Normal health, physique, and use of senses, as indicated by passing the required physical examination given by a Company physician.

  • Must be willing to work under unusual or special working conditions and surroundings.
