Medical Support Professional

We are seeking a Medical Support Professional to join our Ambulatory Surgery team at Geisinger in Pittston, Pennsylvania. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support services in an outpatient setting.
About the RoleThis is a full-time opportunity with a competitive estimated salary of $48,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan with company match.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic direct patient care activities, such as taking vital signs, weights, and assisting patients with ambulation, dressing, and undressing for examination.
- Assist providers in setting up for minor procedures, gathering supplies and equipment, applying aseptic dressings, and opening supplies.
- Obtain and accurately document patient information using the rooming tool within the electronic medical record.
- Complete medication review and reinforce patient instructions to enhance patient understanding and adherence to treatment.
- Collect and prepare lab specimens, and complete associated paperwork, forms, and documentation.
- Report patient concerns and questions to appropriate care team members and follow through as directed.
- A minimum of 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) is required.
- Basic Life Support Certification is required within 6 months.
