The Marine Corps' Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) and Prepositioning Program play a critical role in advancing national interests globally. This distinctive initiative ensures the necessary components for effective crisis response, global mobility, and forward presence. The Marine Corps' Prepositioning Program facilitates the swift deployment of Marine Air Ground Task Forces (MAGTFs) and enhances the capabilities of individual Marine units stationed abroad. These forces are instrumental in reinforcing alliances, securing strategic access, and countering adversarial threats. The MPF is a cornerstone of the Marine Corps' ability to establish conditions vital for national security, enabling the prepositioning of equipment and supplies to support MAGTFs at various operational levels.
Role Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and coordinate the activities of supply technicians engaged in supply chain and warehouse operations for the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program. The Supply Chain Supervisor will report directly to the Logistics Manager.
Training and Development
Initial training and onboarding will be conducted in a designated location, followed by specialized training for placement in the operational area.
Key Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Supervisor will:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise supply chain and warehouse management functions for the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive material management program that complies with contractual obligations and Marine Corps policies.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of supply technicians involved in the acquisition, distribution, accountability, storage, and disposal of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure optimal supply readiness, warehouse organization, and asset accountability while providing guidance on asset management.
- Review invoices and requisitions to effectively plan work activities.
- Ensure that technicians receive appropriate training in all supply chain functions.
- Determine work priorities and assignments to maximize the use of resources.
- Maintain an inventory of repair parts and equipment, requisitioning replacement stock as necessary.
- Review and approve requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies in accordance with budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to personnel and administrative policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Enforce compliance with established safety protocols and procedures for handling equipment and components.
- Inspect work performed to ensure it meets specifications and timelines.
- Interpret specifications, drawings, work orders, and layouts.
- Maintain compliance with ISO policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or coursework towards a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- A combination of college credits, professional certifications, formal training, and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in maintenance and logistics support activities, including five years in a supervisory role.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid state Motor Vehicle Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret security clearance.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
- Applicants must successfully pass a background investigation with no significant violations.
- Must be eligible for a work visa and an Alien Employment Permit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with USMC MOS 3043.
- Familiarity with Marine Corps policies, regulations, and orders.
- Industry certifications.
- Knowledge of automation and scripting.
- Expertise in military storage procedures.
- Understanding of general maintenance procedures for military tactical equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adhere to established methods, quality standards, and timelines.
