PruittHealth is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Lexington. As a Dispensing Technician, you will play a vital role in preparing medications under the direction of our pharmacists.

Job Purpose:

The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare medications accurately and efficiently. This includes measuring, mixing, counting, packaging, labeling, and recording amounts and dosages of medications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pull and scan medications against prescription labels for accuracy.
  • Package medications in the correct container for dispensing.
  • Mix pharmaceutical preparations according to written orders.
  • Label medication containers with correct prescription labels and auxiliary labels.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
  • Replenish medications in emergency, refrigerator, and controlled substances boxes.
  • Print delivery manifests and place in delivery totes.
  • Lock delivery totes when ready for delivery and ensure totes are loaded onto delivery vehicles.
  • Unpack items returned in totes and forward to the appropriate department.
  • Pull stickers for reorder items and forward to the Inventory Manager.
  • Place received stock on shelves accurately.
  • Keep medication storage areas clean and free of dust and clutter.
  • Complete and document medication storage area inspections monthly.
  • Identify and replace outdated or unusable medications.
  • Generate reports and labels as required.
  • Maintain logs, records, and other required documentation accurately.
  • Collect data, conduct operations checklists, and quality monitors, and complete documentation as assigned.
  • Assist in training new partners as required.
  • Maintain TCGRx equipment.
  • Replenish AdvantageRx containers.
  • Fills AdvantageRx trays.
  • Operate AdvantageRx dispensing equipment, including ATP-384, InSpectRx, and Corrector.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician – State of South Carolina.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
  • 3 years of pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication skills.
