Job Purpose:The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare medications accurately and efficiently. This includes measuring, mixing, counting, packaging, labeling, and recording amounts and dosages of medications.
Key Responsibilities:- Pull and scan medications against prescription labels for accuracy.
- Package medications in the correct container for dispensing.
- Mix pharmaceutical preparations according to written orders.
- Label medication containers with correct prescription labels and auxiliary labels.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
- Replenish medications in emergency, refrigerator, and controlled substances boxes.
- Print delivery manifests and place in delivery totes.
- Lock delivery totes when ready for delivery and ensure totes are loaded onto delivery vehicles.
- Unpack items returned in totes and forward to the appropriate department.
- Pull stickers for reorder items and forward to the Inventory Manager.
- Place received stock on shelves accurately.
- Keep medication storage areas clean and free of dust and clutter.
- Complete and document medication storage area inspections monthly.
- Identify and replace outdated or unusable medications.
- Generate reports and labels as required.
- Maintain logs, records, and other required documentation accurately.
- Collect data, conduct operations checklists, and quality monitors, and complete documentation as assigned.
- Assist in training new partners as required.
- Maintain TCGRx equipment.
- Replenish AdvantageRx containers.
- Fills AdvantageRx trays.
- Operate AdvantageRx dispensing equipment, including ATP-384, InSpectRx, and Corrector.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician – State of South Carolina.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
- 3 years of pharmacy experience preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills.
