Job Title:

Nursing Facilitator

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to teach Certified Nursing Assistant courses in classroom/laboratory/clinical settings. The main population will consist of high school students in a high school environment. In addition, this position will involve administrative support for WFT Allied Health Director.

Essential Job Functions:

Develop and teach courses in the geriatric nursing discipline in classroom/laboratory/clinical settings with particular emphasis on medical fundamentals used in a nursing home setting.

Instruction in other specialty areas may be required. May teach large or small groups. Participate in student curriculum development, recruiting, student advising, departmental and divisional meetings. Evaluate student learning and maintain class records. Assess educational outcome measures and complete academic reporting as required. Prepare course syllabi, course materials, and examinations. Collaborative teaching with a team of peers. Establish and maintain partnerships with clinical agencies to facilitate student clinical learning experiences. Clinical experiences will include other allied health programs requiring clinicals. Provide instruction in technology enhanced class settings including interactive streaming and online distance learning and technology, as needed. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of an associate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution. Possess current licensure as a nurse in Tennessee. Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience. Minimum of one year in a long-term (nursing home) care experience as a registered nurse. Teaching experience with a group of individuals. Have ability to communicate effectively and to establish and maintain important interpersonal relationships with others. Must have a valid and current TN state driver's license. Ability to travel within the WSCC 10-county region.

Leadership & Supervisory:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities but is expected to participate as part of a team in conjunction with the Director of Workforce Training for Allied health

Environment & Working Conditions:
Office environment is temperature controlled with occasional fluctuations, well lit, and free from loud noises and unnecessary interruptions. Exposure to disease could be potentially hazardous. Exposure to bodily fluids can occasionally occur. Teaching environment at high school locations will vary.

Physical Demands (including requirements for travel or working nights/weekends/holidays):

Large amounts of time spent looking at computer monitors could lead to some eye strain, stress, or headache issues.

Repetitive stress injuries could occur. Travel to local areas will be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of this job.
