Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of welding tasks, including carbide dressing, hard banding, hard facing, saw welding, and general fabrication works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all work safely and in accordance with Parker Wellbore's HSE policies and procedures.
  • Set-up and run RT & UT Quality Vessel Weld Processes - 3 (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW).
  • Set-up and run RT Quality Pipe Weld - All Positions (6G).
  • Set-up and run UT Quality Nozzle Welds - All positions (6G).
  • Set-up and run Carbon Arc Gouging.
  • Able to make any UT or RT Weld Repair.
  • Clean and stamp all welds.
  • Set-up and run all structural non-code welds.
  • Know how to run all welding equipment.
  • Ability to read drawings, WPS's/PQR's.
  • Ability to lead others and plan ahead.
  • Good knowledge of PT, MT, UT, RT methods.
  • Ability to make correct decisions.
  • Speed of accomplishing tasks.
  • Ability to work safely.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma is required.
  • At least 2 years of specific work experience.
  • Necessary licenses, certificates, and registrations to safely perform the functions of a welder.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools specific to welding.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter, and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers, and vendors.
  • Sound reasoning skills and ability to follow directions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery.
  • Ability to perform under stress, under pressure, and/or in emergency situations.
  • Lift, carry, and move objects of up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate machinery and/or power tools.
  • Ability to walk on uneven ground (gravel, rocks, mounds, ice).
  • Wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to hard hat, steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, safety glasses, goggles, and full body harness.
  • Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, carry, push/pull, reach, and use repetitive wrist and hand movements.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and/or ramps while carrying tools requiring a reasonable degree of physical stamina and agility and involving moderate to severe physical exertion.
  • Operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (Cold or Heat).
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, reason logically, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to comprehend, remember, and follow verbal and written directions and comply with Company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ability to work in hazardous conditions (dust/gas/fumes/steam/chemicals).
  • Ability to work at heights (scaffolding or ladders).
  • Exposure to vibration (oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body).
