The Guidance Center seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Clinician to join our team. This is a part-time position, requiring 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday based on client and school needs.

\

This role comes with a competitive salary of $60,000 per year, plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

About the Role

\

The School Based Clinician will provide group services to at-risk youth and presentations to school staff, parents, and community members on various mental health topics. This includes increasing awareness of stigma associated with mental health and students within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Conduct questionnaires, score, assess, and refer students that meet criteria for mental health services in a school setting.\
  • Implement the Michigan Model for Health and other SEL curriculum.\
  • Provide group therapy with students.\
  • Coordinate services with mental health and medical professionals.\
  • Facilitate collateral contacts with representatives from schools and other community organizations.\
  • Link families with resources available in the community.\
  • Assist families in becoming enrolled in additional mental health services.\
  • Help to identify and eliminate barriers to services.\
  • Work collaboratively with a team of professionals and paraprofessionals within the school environment.\
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with people and organizations in the community.\
  • Make referrals to Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services as needed.\
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, case consultations, and training as needed.\
  • Facilitate trainings and in-services to students, school staff, parents, and community members.\
  • Participate in after-school hours activities, such as open houses, parent/teacher conferences, back-to-school fairs, and community events.\
  • Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures of The Guidance Center.\
  • Develop, maintain, and review complete case records.\
  • Participate in program evaluation and program development initiatives.\
  • Seek consultation with the Supervisor as needed.\
  • Complete 24 hours of program and/or job-specific training on an annual basis.\
  • Other duties as assigned.\\\

Requirements

  • \
  • A Master's Degree or higher and be a Psychologist (TLLP, LLP, or LP), Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or Limited Licensed Master's Social Worker (LLMSW) supervised by a Licensed Master's Social Worker, or a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).\
  • Current licensure in the State of Michigan.\
  • Meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements of a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP).\
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families.\
  • Ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with children and adolescents.\
  • Valid chauffeur's license and favorable driving record required.\
  • Candidates who do not have a chauffeur's license may still apply but must acquire one by the end of their first month of employment.\\
