Job Overview

Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons PLLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Scheduler to join our team. As a key member of our orthopaedic team, you will play a critical role in coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, ensuring seamless communication between patients, physicians, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, ensuring timely and efficient communication with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on physician schedules, ensuring patients are properly scheduled and appointments are confirmed.
  • Verify insurance coverage, obtain necessary testing and surgical authorizations, and code for all surgical procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment, labs, and medical clearances are ordered, received, and reviewed in a timely manner, enabling surgeries to proceed without delay.
  • Provide documentation required for surgery based on physician protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate requests for medical information between departments, hospitals, and surgery centers, ensuring prompt and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure coordinated efforts and high-quality patient services throughout the clinic.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict confidentiality protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with state and federal laws, including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA, and adapt to changes in a positive and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 year of experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Word Processing software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
