Financial Controller

Oakridge Homes, a leading provider of Community Residential and Support Services in central Minnesota, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join its team of professionals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the finance department, ensuring the maintenance and administration of general accounting systems, and preparing accurate and timely financial reports.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise staff who perform accounting activities, including preparing and posting entries to the general ledger, preparing account reconciliations, payroll, billing, and performing month-end close responsibilities.
- Work alongside senior management to ensure company growth and uphold company standards.
- Plan, direct, and execute all regular accounting operational functions, including month-end accounting, reconciliation, and financial statement reports for internal and external use.
- Prepare and review regulatory filings and audited financials, and coordinate and assist with the annual audits by internal and external auditors in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
- Direct the determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets, prepare and negotiate contracted rates and renewals for individuals served, and manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Oversight of payroll processing and corresponding tax filings, and cash and treasury management, including preparing cash-flow forecasts to project cash needs at monthly and quarterly intervals.
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with bank lending debt covenants and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Assist with annual commercial insurance renewal, providing financial data to support appropriate coverages by line of insurance, and apply for eligible grants to enhance the operations of the organization.
- Participate as a member of the Association of Residential Resources in Minnesota (ARRM), and lead the effort to streamline accounting processes and procedures to promote continuous improvement in all areas of their responsibilities.
- Coordinate with outside IT resources to maintain all technology and equipment, and provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Bachelor's or master's Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Licensed CPA, and public accounting experience preferred.
- 5+ years of total experience in public accounting and industry, prefer some healthcare industry experience specifically Community Residential Services.
- Must have technical and theoretical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Demonstrated leadership skills working with and supervising a team, ability to set and achieve departmental goals, and drive transformational change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, lead process improvement teams, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to collaborate and communicate across all levels and functions of the organization, including both written and verbal formats.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-sufficient, result-driven, and detail-oriented mindset.
