Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Akumin Operating Corp. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, and radiation safety regulations.
- Produces high-quality diagnostic images using PET/CT scanners.
- Effectively communicates with customers and radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatments.
- Trains new technologists and PC's to maintain high standards of imaging care.
- Troubleshoots scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
- State license, as required.
- CPR certification required.
- As applicable, valid state driver's license.
- 1-2 years' experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred.
- Ability to work at several locations.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. The employee will be exposed to radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation. May be exposed to radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
Work Environment
- Sit, stand, walk.
- Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs.
- See, speak, and hear to be able to communicate with patients.
Compensation
We offer a competitive compensation package, with pay up to $75.00 an hour. We are open to discussing compensation, recognizing that individual circumstances may vary and negotiations are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Note that this range is an average and may vary based on individual circumstances, including skills, experience, certifications, and organizational needs.
