Position Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role within an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, ensuring that patients and their families receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. The practice environment is guided by Nurse Managers and supported by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice serve as the foundation for nursing competencies, which are aligned with the Wellstar Values.
All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the nursing practices outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, implementing the Scope of Practice and the Code of Ethics Standards established by the American Nurses Association. As integral members of the patient services team, nurses are expected to advocate for patients while adhering to system policies and procedures, contributing to service excellence goals.

- Completes all mandatory education and competency assessments, ensuring ongoing professional development.
- Acts as a preceptor and mentor for nursing staff and students, fostering a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment.
- Advocates for evidence-based practice and nursing research, participating in value analysis for patient care product evaluation.
- Complies with all healthcare system policies and clinical competencies, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Engages in data collection and formulates relevant clinical questions to enhance evidence-based practice.
- Proactively plans for patient care across the continuum while delivering direct patient services.

Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated:
- Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
A minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience is required.
Required Minimum Skills
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; ability to utilize technology in clinical care; basic computer skills; strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; effective customer service skills; capacity to function in a fast-paced environment; and excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
