Job Summary

As a Security Officer with Denali Universal Services, you will play a critical role in protecting the personnel and assets of our clients at the Valdez Marine Terminal in Alaska. This is a rotational position, requiring a 2-week on/2-week off schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide security services to protect personnel and assets from potential threats
  • Conduct searches of people, vehicles, and buildings
  • Utilize effective communication skills to de-escalate conflicts and provide information to stakeholders
  • Gather information and conduct investigations as needed
  • Exercise sound judgment in determining appropriate action in response to security incidents
  • Operate a motor vehicle in various conditions, including urban and rural settings
  • Conduct visual surveillance and observe characteristics of persons and objects
  • Perform rescue functions and administer emergency medical aid as needed
  • Load, unload, aim, and fire firearms under stress

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Current State of Alaska Armed Security Officer License or ability to obtain
  • State of Alaska Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) certification or ability to obtain
  • Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or ability to obtain
  • Preferred: two years of experience as an officer (or above) with a municipal, state, or federal law enforcement agency, military police unit, corrections, or private security company within the past five years
