Nurse Aide in Training Job Summary

As a Nurse Aide in Training at American Senior Communities, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in making resident beds and maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
  • Transport residents in wheelchairs to and from activities, the dining room, and therapy in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Distribute clothing protectors to residents in the dining room and assist with dining room presetting of coffee and drinks.
  • Pass food trays to residents but do not assist with feeding.
  • Ensure that clean ice water pitchers and cups are provided and are full in each resident's room no less than once per shift/tour of duty.
  • Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness on the unit, including cleaning pantry, utility rooms, wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, beside tables, and keeping bedside drawers' closets, wardrobe, and table organized.
  • Keep resident personal care items separated in bags and transport soiled clothing to laundry or to repair.
  • Fills linen carts, obtains linens or distributes linens to residents.
  • Participate or assist with resident activities.
  • Immediately report unusual occurrences, significant changes in residents' physical or behavioral condition, patterns of decreased social interactions, angry sad behavior, and refusals of treatment to the Unit Charge Nurse.
  • Comply with the company's privacy practices and procedures related to resident and employee records and all state and federal privacy practices and procedures related to resident and employee records and all state and federal privacy laws including HIPAA.
  • Comply with and adhere to the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by the Bloodborne Pathogens Standards.
  • Protective Personal Equipment (PPE), including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, extremities, protective clothing, and protective shield and barriers, will be provided, used, and maintained.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and prompt and regular attendance to work to ensure that quality care and services are provided to the patients we serve.
