Job Description

The Manufacturing Accounting Specialist at Ascent Buildings is responsible for assisting the Director of Accounting in all areas of accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, balance sheet account reconciliations, and month-end closing. This role requires the completion and submission of daily/weekly/monthly reports and assistance with quarter and yearly audits.

  • Provide financial information, analysis, and support to various employees as required
  • Assist in the timely completion of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close in accordance with process requirements, including accurate preparation of journal entries
  • Assist in preparation of balance sheet account reconciliation and payroll audits
    • Review and develop procedures for accurate reporting and recording of inventory transactions
      • Manage the annual fixed asset audit and coordinate capitalization of new capital assets
        • Perform capital expenditure analysis and tracking of expenditures; perform post-audits of active Capital Requests
          • Assist with coordination of internal and external audit requirements
          • Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls
          • Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory liability accounts
          • Capture and monitor KPIs for manufacturing and operations within the Portland facility
          • Complete financial analysis and capture financial/operational optimization recommendations

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with a B.S. in Accounting or Finance and CPA certification preferred. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google, and accounting software, as well as experience with Payroll reporting and ADP/Paychex.
