Atrium Health is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our esteemed GI Surgical Oncology team at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to patients with complex surgical diseases and disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, rectum, and anus.

About the Role

As an APP in our GI Surgical Oncology team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Your duties will include:

  • Performing initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and recording findings
  • Assisting with new consults and admissions, daily assessments, and treatment plans
  • Writing prescriptions, administering medications, and ordering laboratory and radiology examinations
  • Documenting patient encounters, observations, interventions, and actions in the medical record
  • Participating in group meetings, developing standard procedures, and contributing to evidence-based research initiatives
Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

  • A Master's degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (for Nurse Practitioners) or a graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program (for Physician Assistants)
  • Eligibility for a DEA license and prescriptive authority in the state of North Carolina
  • Board certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body
  • Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
