Position Overview

This position may provide opportunities for telecommuting, contingent upon departmental policies and operational needs. Business travel may also be part of your responsibilities, with all travel expenses incurred to the headquarters being the candidate's responsibility.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates may need to achieve a passing score on the Senior Transportation Engineer Civil examination. New applicants to state civil service must be listed on the state examination roster to be eligible for consideration.

Working Environment

Location: Santa Cruz County
This role involves working with computers in various lighting conditions, whether in a standard office setting or outdoors. The incumbent may be required to sit or stand for extended periods while focusing on intricate tasks. Fieldwork may expose you to varying weather conditions, necessitating the use of appropriate safety equipment at all times. Occasional travel and overnight assignments may be necessary.

Special Requirements

  • A valid California Professional Engineers License is mandatory.
