About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Envelope Consultant to join our team at NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC. As a key member of our facilities and building envelope group, you will be responsible for providing expert consulting services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Peer review of construction documents, including architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings, to ensure compliance with building enclosure standards.
  • Design and implementation of remedial roof and envelope solutions for existing facilities.
  • Conduct visual building enclosure system surveys, moisture surveys, and pre-design surveys to identify potential issues.
  • Perform forensic evaluations and investigations on building enclosure and roof components to determine the root cause of performance issues.
  • Conduct field testing of roofing, waterproofing, window, and curtainwall systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform quality assurance site inspections to verify conformance with construction documents and industry standards.
  • Prepare technical reports documenting investigative results, testing, and observations.
  • Project management and technical oversight of building enclosure, facilities, and roofing projects.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in building enclosure/roofing consulting.
  • Certifications such as Registered Roof Observer (RRO), Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC), and Certified Infrared Thermographer (CIT) are highly desirable.
  • Technical knowledge of building construction and the ability to identify and solve constructability, integration, design, troubleshooting, durability, continuity, structural behavior, thermal property evaluation, sustainability, and maintenance/operation of building envelopes/roofing systems.
  • Valid State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in outdoor temperature extremes.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally overnight travel in and out of state.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to operate a mechanical boom lift or willingness to become certified.
