Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at LCMC Health. As a Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and providing data/results to cardiologists with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares patients for testing and performs diagnostic quality echocardiograms with thorough interrogation of normal and abnormal cardiac and extracardiac anatomy.
• Performs all quantitative measurements from M-Mode, 2D, and Doppler studies.
• Assists healthcare practitioners with transesophageal, epicardial, and intracardiac echocardiographic studies.
• Recognizes simple and complex congenital heart defects independently.
• Performs fetal echocardiograms as required.

Requirements:

• Registered through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a medical sonographer or cardiac sonographer.
• American Heart Association, Basic Life Support Health Care Provider.
• Knowledge of ultrasound physics and instrumentation, cardiac anatomy and physiology, vascular anatomy and physiology, general medical terminology, and an understanding of the nomenclature of physicians' orders.
