Job Title: Perinatal Sonographer

At AtlantiCare, we are seeking a skilled Perinatal Sonographer to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Perinatal Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging services.

Job Summary

The Perinatal Sonographer will perform prenatal testing and diagnostic imaging procedures according to established departmental procedures. This includes operating diagnostic equipment, managing patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform prenatal testing and diagnostic imaging procedures according to established departmental procedures.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manage patient care during diagnostic procedures to meet quality patient care standards.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment, including reporting problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member.
  • Support organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiological Perinatal Sonographer school.
  • 1 year ultrasound testing experience preferred; 1 year experience within perinatology also preferred.
  • Ability to concentrate on fine detail within a hectic environment, constant interruptions, and handle several tasks at once.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
  • BLS required at time of hire or transfer.
  • ARDMS - (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) Certified in OB/GYN, at time of hire or transfer.
  • Nuchal Translucency Cert required or obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer, (preferably prior to end of orientation period).
  • Fetal Echocardiography required within 2 years from date of hire or transfer.
Work Environment

The Perinatal Sonographer will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, with potential exposure to hazards and risks, including infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, potential injury, and hazardous substances, including electromagnetic radiation.

The position requires the ability to stand a majority of the time, extensive pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
