We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to join our team at Backus Hospital. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating clinical, administrative, and operational activities for your assigned department(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • Transform Care Delivery Models: Assist the nursing leadership team in transforming care delivery models and environmental design to ensure the delivery of safe patient care that is evidence-based, accessible, and affordable to all.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in the department(s) managed.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services.
  • Quality and Safety: Integrate quality and safety measures for patients into the care environment; ensure departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Staff Management: Manage staff, including performance management, individualized development, pay recommendations, staff engagement, conflict management, etc.
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff; and have 24-hour accountability ensuring all quality, financial, and service benchmarks, including compliance with environmental care standards are met.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with the Nursing Director to develop, implement, and manage a budget to ensure compliance with organizational budget guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Master of Science Nursing preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 Years of relevant experience in clinical practice; Minimum 2 years of progressive leadership required
  • Licensure: State of CT Registered Nurse licensure
  • Certifications: Certified BLS provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA); Certification in a specialty area required within 3 years
