Overview:

The Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer will play a crucial role in the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of IT applications that utilize Oracle PL/SQL. This position requires interaction with clients across various organizational levels to transform business requirements into effective technical solutions that enhance productivity for end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planning, design, development, testing, and migration of applications using Oracle and associated tools.
  • Demonstrate expertise in crafting complex queries, applying advanced PL/SQL techniques, and optimizing performance. Assist in defect analysis, impact evaluation, and resolution planning.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, followed by the design and implementation of effective solutions.
  • Review Oracle ADDM and AWR reports, providing recommendations for query optimization based on thorough analysis.
  • Utilize Oracle 12C features effectively within a large-scale multi-terabyte environment.
  • Support team members, including DBAs and database developers, in understanding data and fulfilling user requirements.
  • Engage in project workgroups with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders to identify data-specific needs.
  • Participate in performance tuning initiatives.
  • Provide production deployment and ongoing support as necessary.
  • Involve in all phases of the software development life cycle, showcasing the ability to learn both business processes and new technologies.
  • Collaborate within an agile sprint team in a fast-paced development and deployment setting.
  • Exhibit strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Conduct research on software-related issues and products.
  • Work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in advanced PL/SQL programming with Oracle Database versions 11g and 12c, proficiency in TOAD/SQL Developer, and familiarity with operating systems such as Linux, Unix, and Windows. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with MS SQL Server, Java, Fusion Middleware 11g (BPEL, B2B, Spring Bean, OSB), WebLogic, Visual Studio, .NET Framework, Cloud Computing, Team Foundation Server, and web technologies including HTML, DHTML, XML, CSS, XSLT, SOAP, WSDL, SOA, Scripting languages, ServiceNow, along with knowledge of SDLC activities in development projects and experience in the Electric/Gas industry.

Certifications:

  • Training or Certification in Oracle PL/SQL Language is a valuable asset.
