The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is pivotal in spearheading continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the entire value chain. This position focuses on refining manufacturing processes and elevating product quality by analyzing product and production methodologies, pinpointing improvement opportunities, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure effective implementation of plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the successful introduction of New Product Initiatives (NPI) within the manufacturing operations.
  • Facilitate facility enhancements, technology transfers, and the ongoing maintenance of mixed model production lines or value streams.
  • Ensure the sustainability of process improvement initiatives through the implementation of robust policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Adopt demand-driven strategies that promote operational excellence and align with long-term objectives.
  • Optimize the flow of products, materials, and information to maximize efficiency and minimize operational costs.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to enhance business performance.
  • Utilize standard Generac tools, methodologies, and practices in all processes.
  • Establish objectives that encompass continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving customer satisfaction and fulfillment.
  • Collaborate closely with shop floor teams to foster ongoing enhancements in manufacturing methods, systems, and controls.
  • Oversee area layouts, process definitions, PLC programming, and the design, selection, justification, and implementation of equipment and tooling.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology with 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or ProE);
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Understanding of lean principles and process optimization;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects across diverse teams;
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve desired outcomes;
  • Experience in both high mix, low volume and high volume, low mix production settings;
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Track record of managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements: The role requires regular communication and the ability to manipulate objects or controls. Employees may need to stand, walk, stoop, bend, or reach overhead. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary. This position involves frequent computer-based work, necessitating periods of sitting and close vision. Occasional travel may be required.
