Ultrasound Technologist Per Diem

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform Ultrasound procedures at a technical level, selecting proper imaging techniques and operating ultrasound-imaging equipment to acquire images and provide an initial interpretation of exam to the physician in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
- Ensure that two points of patient identification are obtained, that patient is properly prepared, and obtains a relevant patient history.
- Review the patient's chart to obtain pertinent clinical history, test results, and laboratory data as they apply to accurate interpretation of the ultrasound examination.
- Deliver patient care under scope of license/training, utilizing universal precaution techniques as well as safety techniques specific to the patient's status.
- Perform Ultrasound studies on pediatric patients, being knowledgeable about illnesses related to this patient population and the various types of care being provided to them.
- Be knowledgeable in the operation of all equipment to be used during the workday, notifying appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs needed.
- Maintain effective working relations and communication with departmental and other hospital personnel.
- Execute paperwork, PACS, RIS, EPIC, and reporting functions as necessary for each patient exam.
- Prepare the equipment, room, and supplies necessary for each patient and regular daily use, stocking and supplying room and general department area as needed.
- May oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students within the department.
- Participate in research programs, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects carried on in the department.
- Assume all responsibilities for on-call coverage and remain flexible in all shift coverage and overtime situations as necessary.
- Must have graduated from an AMA-accredited Ultrasound Program with a minimum of 12 months' full-time clinical ultrasound experience.
- Must meet the requirements and successfully complete the ARDMS certification (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or equivalent.
- Must become registered in all the institution's accredited specialties: first specialty or additional specialty must be completed within one year of start of employment.
