Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist with weekly poultry processing at our on-farm USDA plant.

Responsibilities
  • Process an average of 600-800 broiler chickens per week, and turkeys seasonally.
  • Maintain sharp knife skills and adhere to accurate food safety techniques set forth in our HACCP plan.
  • Clean and disinfect all equipment, hand tools, tables, cutting boards, and floors.
  • Communicate quality issues to supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Inspect products for quality and freshness.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain a strong work ethic.
Requirements
  • Experience working in food production (cooking, butcher, food manufacturing) is advantageous.
  • Lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
  • Available to work Monday - Friday.
  • Ability to perform single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling motions.
  • Exposure to USDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
  • Willingness to work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment, including box cutters, pluckers, scalders, and meat grinders.
Compensation

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour; generous food allowance and discounts available.
