Job Title: Controller

About Us: Carbon Performance is a state-of-the-art fitness club known for its cutting-edge facilities and comprehensive wellness offerings.

Position Summary: The Controller will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the system, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, accounting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee and drive all finance & accounting activities, with daily priorities focused on accounts payable, collections, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against these targets to identify trends and partner with the rest of management on improvement opportunities.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Generate timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements – both from GAAP & managerial standards (contribution margin by service/product).
  • Inventory Management: Maintain, track, and plan for inventory needs including supplements, apparel, food/drink.
  • Unit Expansion: Work closely with the leadership team to assess & execute on potential new locations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations and standards, including tax laws, reporting requirements, annual 3rd party audit reviews, and investor reporting.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and work with the team to optimize cash management strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align financial strategies with operational goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with meaningful exposure to managerial accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of & familiarity with QuickBooks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with health clubs, gyms, fitness facilities.
  • Active CPA certification.
  • Experience transitioning IT systems (CRM, ERP, etc.).
