Clinical Laboratory Scientist Lead

About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist Lead to oversee the daily operation of our laboratory section(s). The successful candidate will provide consultative services to the medical staff, oversee the section/department performance improvement program, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Responsibilities:- Supervise the daily operation of the laboratory section(s)
- Provide consultative services to the medical staff
- Oversee the section/department performance improvement program
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Assess staff competency and complete performance evaluations
- Ensure the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting
- Develop, maintain, and update section policy and procedure manuals
- Review quality control performance and ensure documentation of corrective actions
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and correct or notify the Director or Medical Director
- Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment
- Ensure the performance and documentation of equipment maintenance
- Recognize age-specific differences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics
- Ensure the testing of proficiency testing samples in the same manner as patient samples
- Ensure the currency of all laboratory policies and procedures
- Adhere to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources
- Requires five years of clinical laboratory work experience that cover all areas of the clinical laboratory
- Bachelor's Degree in biological science, chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution
- Current and valid California State License

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $44.29 to $58.31. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
