Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy machinery to excavate, transport, load, and grade various materials including earth, rock, and gravel.
  • Engage in a range of activities such as road construction, fine grading, finishing, sloping, banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating, stockpiling, road surface maintenance, and trenching.
  • Ensure proficient and safe operation of equipment.
  • Conduct necessary safety inspections and maintain documentation.
  • Keep the job site clean and safe.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Experience Requirements

  • Construction experience is essential, with a preference for heavy construction.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience with Batch Plants is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

Candidates should possess the ability to:

  • Interpret engineering drawings.
  • Work safely in various outdoor conditions.
  • Follow instructions and adhere to established standards.
  • Accurately judge distances and slopes.
  • Make informed decisions based on measurable criteria.

Physically, candidates must be capable of:

  • Stooping, bending, and crouching.
  • Utilizing hands, arms, and legs effectively.
  • Seeing clearly (with or without correction).
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 25 pounds.
