Job Summary

The Prior Authorization Pharmacist plays a critical role in ensuring the effective management of medications for our clients. As a key member of our team, you will apply your expertise in drug utilization review to make informed decisions that promote cost savings and quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply clinical knowledge of drugs to perform thorough drug utilization reviews
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of reviews
  • Stay up-to-date with drug formulary management strategies to optimize cost savings
  • Provide exceptional service to members and providers through accurate and timely reviews
  • Meet departmental goals for review quantity and quality
  • Ensure compliance with Utilization Management laws and regulations
Requirements
  • Current and unrestricted State of California Pharmacist License
  • PharmD degree
  • 2-4 years' experience in prior authorization or drug utilization review
