All candidates for the Driver position, including those with a commercial driver's license, will start as a Driver in Training. Our organization invests significantly in training and development, ensuring that our drivers are among the best in the industry.
As a Driver in Training, you will receive instruction from our experienced staff to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and any necessary endorsements. Upon successful completion of the training program and meeting all requirements, you will transition into a Professional Driver role.

- Safely operate a school bus or designated vehicle along a fixed or variable route.
- Exhibit the highest standards of ethics and integrity; report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior to a supervisor.
- Punctually report for duty and maintain adherence to the scheduled route while prioritizing safety.
- Assist passengers in evacuating the vehicle during emergencies.
- Promptly report any accidents or incidents in accordance with company policy.
- Adhere to company policies regarding student and passenger management.
- Communicate effectively with relevant personnel regarding issues or procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including route change sheets and vehicle repair requests, in a timely manner.
- Foster a cooperative atmosphere with colleagues, supervisors, customers, and passengers while promoting company goodwill.
- Efficiently utilize vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts and emergency tools.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Paratransit Drivers may have specific responsibilities based on location.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old; Tennessee School Bus Drivers must be at least 25 years old as per state regulations.
- Must possess or be able to obtain all necessary state licenses and certifications to operate company vehicles.
- Must meet physical and medical standards and pass substance abuse screenings; as a safety-sensitive employee, random screenings will be conducted.
- Must successfully complete all required training.
- Must practice defensive driving and adhere to safe driving habits to prevent accidents.
- Compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations is mandatory.
