Job Title: Expeditionary Physical Education/Health Teacher

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Expeditionary Physical Education/Health Teacher to join our team at Oxford Hills Middle School. As a member of our staff, you will have the opportunity to design and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate physical education and health curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes holistic wellness among middle school students.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive physical education and health curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners.
  • Design and lead outdoor expeditions and experiential learning activities that enhance students' understanding of health and wellness in real-world contexts.
  • Teach essential health education topics, including nutrition, mental health, and personal wellness.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to inform instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to infuse physical education and health concepts into interdisciplinary units and school-wide initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching license/certification in Physical Education/Health Education.
  • Experience teaching middle school students, preferably within an expeditionary learning or outdoor education framework.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and community partners.
