We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in a challenging role that involves designing, building, and optimizing software for our Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) platform.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Design and develop software to run an exchange for computing resources, including pricing models and risk distribution.
- Customer-Facing Features: Design and develop customer-facing features that make it easy for customers to select products and use EC2 features in the most cost-effective way.
- API Design and Development: Define intuitive web service APIs and use AWS's cutting-edge technologies to develop new customer features rapidly.
- Service Architecture: Empower developers from around the world to build their applications on EC2 compute power by reducing friction, simplifying APIs, adding tooling, and improving the service architecture.
- Deployment and Monitoring: Automatically deploy and monitor your service to identify performance issues before our customers do.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, interview, and hire software developers that raise the bar in all areas, and mentor junior software developers to grow their skills and career.
- Professional Experience: 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Design and Architecture Experience: 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling of new and existing systems.
- Programming Experience: Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Full Software Development Life Cycle Experience: 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

CompensationThe base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
