Role Overview: Registered Nurse (RN) - Level 3 Trauma Emergency Room
We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to enhance our vibrant team in our 24-bed, Level 3 Trauma Emergency Room, recognized within Lifepoint Health. In this role, you will be essential in providing high-quality care to patients facing various traumatic injuries and medical crises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to individuals with acute and critical conditions, including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and other medical emergencies.
- Assessment and Triage: Efficiently assess patient conditions, prioritize care based on urgency, and initiate necessary interventions.
- Collaboration: Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to formulate and execute tailored patient care plans.
- Trauma Management: Administer life-saving treatments and interventions for trauma patients, including wound care, medication administration, and emergency resuscitation.
- Communication: Ensure clear and effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team to facilitate seamless care delivery and positive patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Accurately record all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Education and Support: Provide education to patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Compliance: Follow hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant environment for all patients and staff.
Highpoint Health Sumner is a 167-bed facility located in Gallatin, TN, and is part of Lifepoint Health, a comprehensive healthcare delivery network committed to enhancing community health through acute care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health services.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must possess a current State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure and hold an Associate's or Bachelor's degree or RN Diploma in Nursing.
Required Certifications:
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire.
ACLS & PALS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 6 months of employment if not current upon hire.
TNCC - Preferred.
Minimum Work Experience:
1 year of Emergency Services nursing, AEMT, Paramedic, or Military experience - preferred.
