We are launching brand new products and product lines at National Grid, and as a Digital Solutions Architect, you'll be part of this inception. Our products undergo a validation phase, where we answer the question: 'What is the business problem we are trying to solve', and together with your counterparts, you'll be responsible for narrowing the scope, defining a solution, and working with your team to solve it.
We seek an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Digital Solutions Architect for our US Electric business unit This position can be located in Waltham, MA, Brooklyn, NY, Hicksville, NY, or Syracuse, NY (candidates may also reside in either Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine). Job Description
As a Digital Solutions Architect, you'll take on a critical role of turning business needs into technology solutions specifically working within our US Electric organization. Key responsibilities include:
- Hands-on contributions with code development
- Gain visibility and recognition across the organization for technical competence and leadership
- Lead the architectural design of complex systems
- Write well-designed, testable, scalable, and efficient code
- Provide contributions to the engineering organization
- Provide leadership for the integration of software components into a fully functional software system
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders on the development of digital products
- Contribute to IT standards, procedures, and process
- Provide support and mentorship to the engineering team
- Collaborate with teams on other products and business units on technology
Requirements
We are seeking a skilled Digital Solutions Architect with:
- 8+ years of experience in software development as a developer
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Hands-on technical experience with React, TypeScript, .Net Core, PostgreSQL, Azure, GitHub
- Several years of technical contribution and leadership in a structured team environment
- Ability to mentor other engineers
- Ability to give constructive criticism
- Ability to make decisions quickly
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong knowledge of the agile software development process
- Practical experience in building and using RESTful APIs
- Solid communication and documentation skills

Location and Salary
This position can be located in Waltham, MA, Brooklyn, NY, Hicksville, NY, or Syracuse, NY (candidates may also reside in either Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine). The estimated salary range is $134,000 - $215,000 per year based on location.
