Project Manager Job Description

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to support our customer at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Indian Head in Indian Head, MD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a team of project managers and coordinators to oversee construction, purchasing, and logistics activities.
  • Develop and draft program or project milestones, compile and analyze metrics in support of major command level mission requirements and operations.
  • Ensure accountability for the outcomes of high-complexity projects, including adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Support the definition of project scope and objectives by engaging relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources to fulfill project requirements outlined in the scope.
  • Identify and address overall project risks through effective conflict resolution with the project team and stakeholders.
  • Translate project requirements into tasks, establish priorities for individual team members, and the overall project.
  • Effectively communicate and manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular status reports on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to internal and external leadership.
  • Identify key decision-makers and cultivate trusted adviser relationships with project and program stakeholders, sponsors, and key figures.
  • Prepare briefs, presentations, and cost spreadsheets.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in business management, finance, or engineering from an accredited university with Ten (10) years of progressive experience in managing and executing the planning, provisioning, and delivery of projects; or a Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, or engineering from an accredited university with Fifteen (15) years of progressive experience.
  • Proficient in creating and editing project documents, materials, and presentations, including schedule management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills when interacting with all levels of the command and demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Background in government contracting, particularly financial aspects, and standard business practices.
  • A secret security clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a top-secret clearance.
