Nurse Professional Development Specialist

As a leading academic health system, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Professional Development Specialist. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients, staff, and community.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert nursing care based on established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for students and staff, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
- Maintain accountability for own practice and aspects of care delegated to others, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate hospital-based staff performance education programs, fostering career growth and outstanding job performance.
- Collaborate with the NPD team, float pool staff, and other stakeholders to achieve department and unit goals.
- Participate in the nurse residency program and contribute to the development of nursing initiatives.
- Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, with a background in Surgical Step-Down Units and acute care.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching/learning experiences, as well as course development and delivery.
- Masters of Science in Nursing required, or to be completed within 2 years of hire.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and current certification of BLS through American Heart Association.
