Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Highmark Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
  • Complete documentation required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness, including charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education.
  • Perform diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
  • Provide instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Graduation from an approved respiratory therapy program.
  • Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, CRT, or TPP.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required prior to the expiration of the TPP.
  • CPR – American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications

We also prefer candidates with:

  • Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT, or Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT).
  • 1 year experience in a hospital setting.
