Job Summary

The City of Philadelphia is seeking a highly skilled Medical Examiner Specialist to join their team. As a Forensic Pathology Expert, you will be responsible for investigating cases of violent, sudden or suspicious deaths and determining the existence of criminal acts or negligence. This is a specialized medical work that requires a high level of expertise in pathology techniques and principles.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Investigate cases of violent, sudden or suspicious deaths.
  • Determine the existence of criminal acts or negligence.
  • Conduct individual case investigations with families, governmental agencies, hospitals, physicians, and others.


Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy.
  • Completion of an internship in an approved hospital.
  • Five years of medical experience in forensic pathology or possession of a certificate in anatomical pathology or clinical and anatomical pathology as issued by the American Board of Pathology.
