As a Maintenance Equipment Specialist with the YMCA of Greater Omaha, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fitness centers. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in your community while working in a fast-paced environment.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Maintenance Equipment Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for completing maintenance work orders for our fitness equipment and floors, maintaining supply and maintenance closets, tools, and equipment, and assisting location staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete association-wide fitness equipment work orders as assigned
  • Maintain supply and maintenance closets, tools, and equipment in a safe, functional, and orderly manner
  • Assist location staff as needed to maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Relate to the public in a positive manner
  • Actively participate in department and association staff meetings and/or related trainings
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree highly desirable
  2. Three or more years working knowledge of fitness equipment and other maintenance-related areas of a fitness center environment preferred
  3. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check
  4. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between branches daily required

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This is a non-office position that requires frequent climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, using hand and power tools, reaching with hands, sitting, standing for an extended period of time, climbing ladders, walking, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, having finger dexterity, grasping, performing repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and having visual acuity. Frequent exposure to dust or fumes is possible, and use of cleaning equipment and chemicals is required.
