We are seeking an Acoustic ML Application Specialist to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our Audio technology team, you will be responsible for developing and integrating new audio features for our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop novel technologies in audio perception and understanding
  • Acquire and preprocess audio data
  • Prototype and evaluate ML models for machine hearing applications

Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical engineering, Acoustics, Signal Processing, Electronics, or an equivalent field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Good understanding of audio and audio signals
  • Proficiency in Python and PyTorch and/or other ML training frameworks
  • Understanding of audio signal processing (EQ, Dynamic range compression)
  • Experience working in at least one of the application areas of multi-channel audio enhancement, speech enhancement, or Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Experience with large-scale training on enterprise scale infrastructure
  • Proficiency in modern AI/ML: self-supervised learning techniques, transformer models as applied to media signals, contrastive learning
