About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Floating Assistant Teacher to join our team at Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and education to children of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rotate between different classrooms, assisting with daily activities and lessons across all age groups, from infants to school-age children.
  • Provide support wherever needed, from leading small group activities to one-on-one mentoring, helping to manage classroom dynamics, and stepping in for lead teachers as required.
  • Contribute to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment in every class you assist.
  • Engage with all children, building strong relationships and becoming a familiar, comforting presence in their day.
  • Collaborate closely with the entire teaching staff, offering flexibility and support across the center.
Requirements
  • A flexible and adaptable educator who enjoys working with children of various ages and developmental stages.
  • Personable and friendly, with a knack for quickly forming strong, positive relationships with children.
  • A supportive team player who can jump into any situation and contribute effectively.
Physical Requirements
  • Comfortable moving throughout the facility during the day to reach different classrooms.
  • Able to engage in physical activities with children, including playing, bending, lifting, and sitting on the floor.
  • Energetic and able to maintain a lively spirit throughout a varied and active day.

Requirements
  • Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency.
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs, the ability to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.

  • Ensure all center and licensing requirements are maintained within the room/center at all times.
  • Must adhere to the DHHS guidelines for training.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a Nebraska Child and Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check.
  • Must pass a background check and undergo the Nebraska State Patrol fingerprinting process.
